According to the Fashion Law, the company is suing Nasty Gal for "copyright infringement." You can see the copied designs here. Their report also says that Pamela Love is seeking up to $30,000 for damages. Love's lawsuit says that back in 2014, they reached out to the brand, asking Nasty Gal to take down the three designs from their website. However, they say the brand ignored their request and continued to sell the accessories based on Love's designs for a year and a half after. After this lawsuit was filed, the three designs immediately vanished from Nasty Gal's website.
Love's lawsuit states: "Nasty Gal is a serial infringer, relying on a business model that ignores the intellectual property rights of others." Love is requesting that Nasty Gal immediately remove and cease all sales of their merchandise and pay for their damages.
Nasty Gal has not yet released a statement in defense of their lawsuit.
